Importing Synchronized LawPay Transactions

Overview

This tutorial will walk you through the steps to import LawPay transactions into TrustBooks.

Steps

1. Start on the Dashboard Page.

2. Click the   Import LawPay Deposits link under the Deposits section.

Note: TrustBooks synchronizes all LawPay transactions once an hour. Once the synchronization has completed all your posted LawPay credit card transactions will appear here. If you see the screen below then either TrustBooks has not synchronized or you do not have any processed credit card transactions that are pending to be imported into TrustBooks. TrustBooks only shows transactions that have been charged via LawPay. Not transactions that are pending processing.

3. Select the box next to the credit card transactions you want to import.

4. Select the Client or the Client with matter for the credit card transaction.

Note: You will need to create the client and or the matter before you import the credit card transactions. Follow the steps in the Create a New Client tutorial.

5. Click the  Import Selected Transactions button.

You will be returned to the Dashboard page. At the top of the page you will see a message that says Transactions imported!

Note: All transactions with the same date will be automatically grouped into a single deposit entry to match the deposit hitting your bank statement. This will make it easy to reconcile TrustBooks to your bank account.

Note: If you have already manually entered the details of the credit card transaction into TrustBooks then do not import it again. This will result in duplicate entries. Follow the steps in the Ignoring Synchronized LawPay Transactions tutorial.
