Editing a Payment


This tutorial will walk you through the steps to Edit a Payment in TrustBooks.

Note: You can only edit a payment if the payment has not been reconciled.


1. Start on the Dashboard Page.

2. There are 3 ways to select the payment you want to edit.

2.1  On your Dashboard, under Latest Payments section, you can click the payment you want to edit.

Note: Only the five (5) most recent payments are shown on the list.

2.2 Or, you can use the search bar in the upper right corner of your dashboard to type in the client name, if you know which client the payment is associated with (this will pull up their ledger):

2.2 Or under CLIENTS & MATTERS, click on View Clients and Matters List:

The View Clients and Matters List page will be displayed.

Click the name of the client where the payment is made.

2.3 Or, click the Build Trust Reports link under the Reports section. The Build Trust Reports page will be displayed.

3. Click the name of the Client where the payment is made.

4. The Payment page will be displayed. Here, you can edit the payment and then click Update at the bottom.

5. Then click OK.
